Professional services agreement fair market value
A professional services agreement can pay for individual clinical work, a defined staffing commitment, or coverage across an entire service line. We start by identifying the services, the providers, and the financial responsibilities of each party.
Provider productivity
Where compensation is tied to individual clinical services, the analysis may include specialty benchmarks, work relative value units, collections, clinical FTEs, and the components of total compensation. Group conclusions are reconciled with the individual analyses.
Staffing and coverage
Where the agreement purchases a defined service commitment, we may develop staffing by role, coverage schedules, compensation and benefit costs, and relevant operating expenses. Professional collections and other offsets are considered where they belong in the arrangement.
Scope the work at the right level
Physician headcount, staffing FTEs, and facility count describe different aspects of a PSA. Specialty groups, coverage obligations, payment formulas, and the need for individual provider conclusions help determine the analysis required.
Account for related responsibilities
Clinical care, call coverage, and administrative duties may be included in one agreement. We identify the components and reconcile their treatment so the overall analysis reflects what the payment actually covers.
